2024-2025 The Alberta Hockey Pool - Pick the Winners runs for 27 weeks with one week break for the All-Star Game. The final week ends on April 19, 2025. Grand Prize winners will be contacted after each 9 week period concludes (3 periods in total).

Each Monday, we will add the games for you to pick for the upcoming weekend (one week at a time). Any games cancelled or postponed will be deleted when the game results are entered and will not be counted towards that week's score. Any rescheduled weekend games will not be added to the pool.

Games postponed or cancelled by the NHL for any reason will be deleted from that weekend's games and will not count towards the weekly points or overall points.

No purchase necessary. One valid entry per contestant.

The Alberta Hockey Pool - Pick the Winners is open to residents of Alberta only.

Prize Eligibility:
Use the Registration tab and then watch for a verification email sent to your registration email address.

The verification email requires you to verify and submit your information to be eligible for cash prizes. This email may arrive in your junk mail folder, the email will be coming from messages@upickem.net.

You must be 18 years of age or older to claim any prize. This contest is void where prohibited by law.

Winners will be notified by email. If a winner does not respond to the email within seven (7) days, or if that winner does not qualify for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected. If Great West Media & Alberta Newspaper Group cannot find an eligible winner for the prize, that prize will not be awarded.

Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

Great West Media & Alberta Newspaper Group reserve the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value.

Great West Media & Alberta Newspaper Group reserve the right to restrict the local winners to only persons whose primary residence is within the province of Alberta, Canada. Prize winners may need to provide proof of primary address.

Employees of Great West Media & Alberta Newspaper Group, their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising sponsors and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of each are not eligible.

Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest.

Entrants further grant to Great West Media & Alberta Newspaper Group the right to use and publish their proper name and city online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.

Entrants further grant to Great West Media & Alberta Newspaper Group the right to take a photo of the prize being awarded and the right to publish this image in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.

Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, agrees to release all Sponsors, and their parent and subsidiary companies, their officers, directors, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, and advertising agencies from all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of the prize.

Great West Media & Alberta Newspaper Group are not responsible for Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or acts of man or God.

If a question cannot be answered because the "action" to result the "answer" is canceled, forfeited, or indefinitely suspended for any reason, or if there proves to be two correct listed answers for the question, that question shall not count for any contestant and scores will be computed as if the question did not exist.

All results posted are unofficial until winners respond to e-mail notification.

Each winner is responsible for all federal, provincial and local taxes and will be required to report prize winnings to the Canada Revenue Agency as required by law. Great West Media & Alberta Newspaper Group reserves the right to withhold prizes until primary address is confirmed.

All wining picks are worth 1 point, except the tie breaker games which are worth 2 points.
The points for each question are clearly marked above each game.

For an individual week :
Fans pick an answer for each question along with an answer for the tie-breaker question.
The computer then takes all the fans tied and then checks to see if they got the tie-breaker question correct.
If there are still ties the computer orders the fans randomly.
For the overall winner:
Fans pick an answer for each question along with an answer for the tie-breaker question for the last week .
The computer then takes all the fans tied and then checks to see if they got the tie-breaker question correct for the last week .
If there are still ties the computer orders the fans randomly.
All decisions of the judges are final.
